Neus Fernández

Music. PerkImBa Director

My profession is linked to music, dance and theater. My vision and concerns in the field of pedagogy are always interdisciplinary.

 

I am graduated in piano, percussion and pedagogy at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Barcelona.

 

Graduated in Dalcroze Rhythmic from the Jaques-Dalcroze Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.
 

For more than 20 years I have been a music teacher at the CSD Dance and ESAD Theater Higher Schools of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, ​​specialized in Dalcroze Rhythm in Performing Arts.

 

In 2009 I created, together with Thierry Hochstätter, the world of PerkImBa, a project that continues to grow with each project we carry out.

 

I teach courses for teacher training both at home and abroad. What interests me most is giving tools to teachers so that they grow as teachers.

 

Multi-instrumentalist, I link the world of interpretation and improvisation.

What I am passionate about is working as a team, directing projects with members of the PerkImBa Company and developing creativity through rhythm and movement. We do with what we are and with what we have. 

Thierry Hochstätter

Music. PerkImBa Artistic Director

Was born in Geneva, where he studied at the Conservatory, before perfecting his skills at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern and at the Musician Institute in Los Angeles. 

 

Composer and musician, his favorite instruments are drums and percussions. A stage and studio musician, he has collaborated with many artists, including Moncef Genoud, Quai des Brumes, Jean-Pierre Huser, Zero Heroes, Alpes, Patrice Moullet, Robyn Kenyatta, Youssou N'Dour, Zizi Jeanmaire and Bernie Constantin.

 

Staff percussionist of Béjart Ballet Lausanne (BBL) since 1994, most of his work as a composer is closely linked to the world of theater and choreography, with notably collaborations for Maurice Béjart, Roland Petit and Gil Roman.

 

In parallel with his career as a composer and musician, Thierry teaches at École Atelier Rudra de Maurice Béjart, at the Barcelona Institut del Teatre, organizes clinics for Zildjian Cymbale Cie, and in various other institutions. 

 

He is also the co-founder and artistic director of Citypercussion, the co-founder of ASAP2 new concept and the artistic director of PerkImBa Cia.

All with extensive experience in both teaching and scenic countryside.

They have training in multiple artistic disciplines and they have in common in their training PerkImBa.

Roser Navarro

Dancer, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

I am trained in different private schools and in the Higher Conservatory of Dance of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona in Pedagogy.

 

I have been part of PerkImBa Cia for 10 years and I have been the director of the Le Bal de Gavà dance school for 20 years.

I believe in the importance of the arts to facilitate the complementarity of cognition and emotion in learning. 

 

I have the conviction that artistic languages ​​are intimately linked to the global formation of any human being.

Every day I am more interested in enjoying the process without losing the artistic look and the staging.

 

I coordinate the dance entities of my town as president of Amigos de la Danza and organize collaborations with other associations and local entities.

Laura Dorna

Dancer, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

My training revolves around different dance schools in Barcelona and Berlin.

 

I have a Higher Degree in Dance Pedagogy from the Higher Conservatory of Dance of the Institut del Teatre. 

I have worked with different companies such as Nats Nus or Dominich Borucki. I have been a member of PerkImBa since 2009.

 

Currently I am part of projects around creation and improvisation. I am a teacher of Bachelor of Performing Arts and BA in History from the UB. 

Interested in creation processes, interdisciplinary projects and above all, especially ... Improvisation and instant composition.

Ona Marco

Dancer, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

I am trained in classical and contemporary dance in different national and international private schools. I started studying 1st cycle of Psychology at the UAB, later I realize that I need to return to the path of dance so I finally graduated from the Higher Conservatory of Dance of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona in Dance Pedagogy.

 

I have been part of PerkImBa Cia for 10 years, I have been teaching creative, classical and contemporary dance classes for 18 years in different private and municipal dance schools. I also combine my teaching task with that of Coordination and Tutoring of the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts and Education at the Institut del Teatre de Vic.

 

I firmly believe in the essence of performing arts as a fundamental pillar of education and I try to fight and work so that one day arts are part of the educational curriculum and children can learn through creativity and experience and can grow in an environment where diversity and cooperation are a source of wealth and the key to continue advancing.

 

Every day I am more interested in guiding educators who want to introduce the performing arts into the educational world. I learn by accompanying people who develop projects related to the performing arts and education and I enjoy seeing how every day we plant new seeds that give birth to new proposals where art is the basis of teaching, learning and social well-being.

Juliette Louste

Dancer, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

Born in Taluyers (France) I have been trained in the Lyon region and, as of 2007, in Barcelona. Graduated from the Superior Dance Conservatory of the Barcelona Theater Institute, specializing in Choreography, with an honorable mention and congratulations from the jury.

 

I have participated in projects as a dancer and / or choreographer. Traveling to various festivals in France and abroad, I know and work closely with eminent artists such as Carolyn Carlson, Israël Galván, Akram Khan, with whom I was respectively artistic director of video editing or production assistant.

 

In 2009 I joined the Perkimba company.

 

I explore the relationship between jazz and contemporary dance in specific projects and improvisations with different musicians, mainly in Spain. With the pianist Toni Vaquer, I have shared different projects, such as the 365 themes and the 52 dance variations, the base of the Games duo, and after the Double Quartet. Since 2012 I work regularly with David Mengual, especially in the Free Spirits Big Band of Sant Cugat.

 

I work as a choreographer for different directors. I create my own projects It 's the same old dream ..., Monk'ments and parallel reality, which finally crystallized at the Juliette Louste Company in 2013.

 

Passionate about travel, they are for me the occasion of dance encounters, video , photographs and a source of inspiration in various cultural contexts.

Vivien Hochstätter

Musicien, dancer, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

Raised in a family of artists, I began to learn music and improvisation very early through the drums that I studied with my father, Thierry Hochstatt and percussions with Julio De Santiago, in Paris with Orlando Poleo and on a study trip to Cuba with Thomas Ortiz.

 

I became interested in stage and performing arts very early.

In 2000 I had the chance to interpret "L'enfant roi" and in 2001 in "Lumière", creations by Maurice Béjart. 

 

I decided to turn music into a profession and discovered a special interest in Latin and mainly Cuban percussion.

 

In 2014, when I was hired as a musician and director to "R'vue Genevoise"

Together with Laëtycia Vumuka I began to frequent the world of salsa at parties and conventions. I begin to teach Cuban salsa classes for the foundation "cultura y Encuentro" and within the Saussure school. I joined Rueda's company "Salsa Expression". Together, we won the Swiss Rueda champion title in 2015 and a third place at the Rueda world championships in Denmark the same year. 

 

I have evolved in various musical circles and have collaborated with various groups such as Mouv ,, Somogo, PerklmBa Cia, the VKFFB (dance orchestra, Geneva) and as a musician and conductor of "La R'vue Genevoise".

 

In October 2016 I joined the Dancefloor school as a Cuban salsa teacher and I happily teach this discipline. 

 

I am director of the Festival "YA tú sabe! Salsa Festival" in Geneva.

Ilona Muñoz

Actress, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

I have a degree in Teaching from the University of Barcelona and in Dramatic Art from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. 

I have also studied in England a Master in Creation and Team Theater based on the principle of coordination and polyphonic singing at Rose Bruford College in collaboration with Manchester University. 

 

I also accompany processes of change through movement based on the Feldenkrais Method of which I am internationally certified. 

I am currently training in Nonviolent Communication.

 

I have worked as a primary school teacher and lately also as an early childhood educator at the Escoleta de los Encants where I have been able to display the whole world of hands, objects and rhythms with the youngest children. 

 

I have moved, removed and chopped with PerkImBa where I always enjoy. 

I have worked in companies as a physical, text andtheater actress documentary, and I often sing and charm. I have also coordinated and carried out projects as a community artist. 

 

What I like is movement, I am a restless ass.

Gerard Masip

Musicien, pedagog, PerkImBa Cia artist

I am from Tarragona and I started my musical studies at the School of the Band Musical Union of Tarragona. 

Average degree of Classical Percussion at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Vila-seca, the Higher Degree of performance in the specialty of Jazz Drums at the Higher School of Musical Studies, Workshop of Musics of Barcelona and the Certificate of Rhythmic Studies Jaques-Dalcroze in the Joan Llongueres School of Music in Barcelona. 

 

I was a member of the International Melody Orchestra, the Cadillac International Orchestra and the Balkan music group La Colonia.

I have collaborated in various formations such as the Vila-seca Symphony Orchestra, the Baix Llobregat Young Symphony Orchestra and the Cobla Reus Jove. 

 

During the formative years I have received classes from teachers such as Ramón Ángel Rey, Xavi Reija, Javier Colina, Xavier Bertomeu, Quim Solé, Xavi Maureta, Vicente Martín, Jordi Bonell, Joan Monné, Dee Jay Foster, David Pastor, etc.

 

I am currently a drummer for the jazz quartet Pacheco & Ordax Eléctrico Quartet, for the Orgasmic Jazz Trio a CD has been recorded, for the gospel choir The Beating Souls, by the singer-songwriter Maria Jacobs and by the company Perkimba. 

 

I combine my concerts with teaching at the British School of Costa Dorada.

Other artists have passed through the Company, and a new occasion will come where we will once again be part of a future PerkImBa project.
